Advocacy and campaigning

We take refugees’ voices directly to the people in power, across Europe.

We work to change the systems that harm refugees. By combining legal expertise, frontline experience and campaigning, we expose the barriers they face on their journeys to safety and family and push for long-term change.

Safe routes

Too many refugees are forced to risk their lives to reach a place of safety, because of the lack of safe routes. We push for governments to create accessible, humane alternatives to those dangerous journeys.

Our campaign priorities

Family reunion

We fight for families to be reunited after war and persecution tore them apart. Using evidence from our casework, we identify the barriers they face to reunite and advocate for vital changes to the law to protect children and families.

The right to seek safety

Everyone deserves protection from harm and danger, and the chance to rebuild their lives. We campaign against policies that undermine this vital right and work to ensure refugees are treated with dignity and fairness.

Influencing decision-makers

We work directly with decision-makers and refugees to improve how systems operate in practice.

  • In the UK, we engage with parliamentarians, contribute to policy debates, and mobilise public support to keep safe routes on the agenda and challenge harmful legislation.

  • In France, we work with government officials to improve family reunion processes and influence how European laws that affect refugees are implemented.

  • At the Franco-British border, we engage in bilateral discussions, pushing for cooperation that protects child refugees instead of punishing them.

  • In Greece, we work with partners and authorities to improve access to protection and ensure families can navigate complex asylum and reunion systems.

Campaigning with refugees

Our campaigns are shaped by the people most affected. We work alongside young refugee campaigners to ensure our work reflects real experiences and focuses on solutions that actually make a difference.

Today, our movement is tens of thousands of people strong, standing together to demand a fairer system.

Research and evidence

Drawing on our legal casework across Europe, we publish reports that highlight the real barriers families face to reunite and rebuild their lives.

Our research helps inform policymakers, shift public debate, and build the case for safe routes and refugee rights.

Help us put compassion on politicians’ agenda

Our advocacy and campaigning work is powered by tens of thousands of people who believe a better way is possible.

That Europe’s laws and policies can and should give refugees a change to rebuild their lives, not punish them.

Please donate today to help us hold decision-makers to account and push for changes that protect refugees across Europe.
