We're campigning for and with refugees to ensure access to routes to safety.

Safe Passage Young Leaders are a group of young people from refugee & asylum-seeking backgrounds, working together to make a difference and campaign for change.

The group meets most weeks online and face-to-face, to make friends, learn new skills and work together to make change and challenge injustice.

Safe Passage Young Leaders are experts by experience on issues and policies that affect young refugees. They have a lot of ideas and suggestions that those in power need to take seriously, and they care passionately about creating safe and legal routes for young people like them.

Safe Passage works with the group to help amplify their voices, whether it be through making videos, speaking with journalists or any other creative ideas the group comes up with. The program also provides training from external experts on areas that the Young Leaders think will be useful to them, from film-making and public speaking to engaging with MPs.

Together, they are building power and speaking out about issues they care about. They are calling for safe and legal routes to sanctuary and fighting for the rights of young refugees around the world.

Since they formed, the Young Leaders have achieved many things. Some highlights:

  • The Young Leaders participate in decision-making at Safe Passage. They share their ideas and expertise and are part of the wider Safe Passage community. For example, Young Leaders have helped to recruit new members of staff and develop the organisation’s strategic objectives.

We are currently expanding our group and would love for you to join us.

Are you under 25 and from a refugee/asylum-seeking background? Do you want to develop your skills in campaigning and work together with other young people to make a difference and challenge injustice?
