Greece: a country of arrival and departure
For most of the young people we work with, Greece isn’t the end of the journey – it’s the first step towards joining family in another European country.
Through legal support and close collaboration with partners in countries of destination, we identify and secure safe routes to family.
Since Brexit, we have also been successfully supporting dozens of children wishing to join family in the UK to navigate complex domestic immigration and entry clearance processes.
We support family reunion
We primarily support family reunion for:
Children and young people
(indicatively up to the age of 21)
Single-parent families
People with additional needs and vulnerabilities (including health conditions and older people)
Direct support for refugees
We provide expert legal and social support to displaced people in Greece, helping them reach a place of safety and where they can be supported by family members. We focus on providing protection before people are forced to resort to irregular and dangerous routes, where they are exposed to significant risks.
Our work is underpinned by a holistic approach – ensuring refugees are supported both before, during and after their journey to safety and family.
We work with them to guarantee their safety and rights while they are in Greece, waiting for their case to be processed – for instance, by helping them access appropriate accommodation, healthcare or child protection services until they can reunite with loved ones. We also stand alongside refugees as they take their first steps in a new country, offering social support and connecting them with relevant services and organisations.
Are you, or is someone you know, in need of protection and support to reach safety or reunite with family?
