Your support brings families together
Every child deserves safety, hope, and the chance to grow up surrounded by those who love them. But right now, too many are stranded — in overcrowded camps across Europe or trapped in conflict zones — far from their families and the security they need to thrive.
We won’t stop until every one of them can find safety and be reunited with the people who matter most.
Since 2016, your support has helped more than 3,000 children and young people reach safety and rebuild their lives through expert legal advice, dedicated social care, and bold campaigning that changes the system for good.
Read the stories below to see how your support transforms lives:
-
Noor and Leila*’s dad was targeted by the Taliban because of his work with the Afghan Border Police. Staying in Afghanistan meant putting not just his own life, but also his wife and two young daughters in danger. He had no choice but to flee. But what followed was years of painful separation with his two young daughters.
We supported Noor and Leila through the long and arduous legal process of reuniting with their dad and, ater nearly a decade apart, they’re finally together again.

Years ago, political violence forced Gloria* to flee her native country, Congo. To protect her son, she made the gut-wrenching decision to leave him in the care of his grandparents, until she could find somewhere safe for them to rebuild their lives together.
She made it to France, but after her parents passed away, Gloria lost track of her son. When she finally found him, he was stuck in Cyprus, vulnerable and alone. Our lawyers supported them through the family reunion process, and after a months-long legal battle, the two of them were finally able to reunite in France.

Shamsi* was just 17 when she lost her grandmother, who raised her in Somalia. She ended up in an abusive home, where her relatives tried to forcibly marry her to a man decades older. Her only hope at a future was to flee.
She set out on a journey to join her aunt in the UK, but ended up stranded in Cyprus for months, alone, sick and facing daily violence and harassment. Our team helped her secure a visa to safely travel to the UK, where’s she’s thriving in her new life.
Thanks to our social support team, Shamsi is now going to college, getting the healthcare she needs, and even campaigning with us for change!

Frequently asked questions
-
Safe Passage International is a charity that exists to open and defend safe routes for refugees, and help families torn apart by war and persecution to reunite safely.
We started in 2015, when volunteer lawyers in Calais helped unaccompanied children reunite with their families in the UK. Since then, we’ve grown into a movement spanning the UK, France and Greece, combining legal casework, grassroots campaigning, and political advocacy.
We’ve helped thousands of children and families find safety across Europe, and continue to fight for lasting change so no one has to risk their life to reach protection.

Your donations power everything we do, including:
Direct legal and social support – providing expert advice, representation and casework so refugees can reunite with family, access their rights, and settle into their new communities.
Policy change – campaigning and lobbying to challenge unfair rules, build public support for humane immigration policies and create safe, legal routes.
Youth engagement – training and supporting young refugees to campaign on issues that affect them directly and creating spaces for them to connect, share and speak up.
Capacity-building – training lawyers, child protection specialists, and frontline practitioners across Europe so more children and families can access family reunion rights.
We keep costs lean: for every £1 you donate, the majority goes directly into frontline casework, campaigning, and training, with only a small amount spent on fundraising and admin to keep our work sustainable.

All donations are processed through trusted, industry-standard payment systems that use the same level of security and encryption as banks. Your personal and financial details are protected by advanced encryption, and we never store or have access to your full payment information.
As a registered charity, we also follow strict UK charity law and financial regulations, so you can donate with confidence knowing your gift is safe and will be put straight to work helping refugees access safety.
