Children's Stories
Every single child we help has their own story to tell - about where they've come from, their journeys, and their hopes for the future. We want to help tell those stories, because they turn numbers in to names.
Lili’s Story
Lili spent eight months sleeping on the streets of Rome before continuing her journey to France, where our team found her, highly vulnerable and hardly eating, sleeping in a makeshift camp in Calais.
Ali’s Journey
Ali left Eritrea when he was 19 with his mother and brother. They went to Yemen and Egypt but could not find safety. On his journey to Europe Ali lost his family, he arrived in Italy alone.
Tekle & Dawit
At 14 years old, Dawit had made the long journey from Eritrea to Italy and then on to Calais alone - where he waited months. His brother, Tekle, campaigned tirelessly with Safe Passage to make sure he reached safety as quickly as possible.
Jabir’s Journey
Jabir and his cousin were just 14 when they were forced to flee their home in Afghanistan to try and reach safety with their Aunt in the UK. Life in the Calais camp was lonely and could be violent but now he is settled at school in England and making new friends.
Saadia’s Journey
Saadia left Iraq with her children and husband and his brother’s family. Braving extreme winter temperatures the seven children and their parents made the perilous 1500km journey across the border to Bulgaria to seek refuge.
